Με δεδομένο ότι το LIFE MareNatura θα διεξάγει έρευνες για 9 διαφορετικά είδη, σε 40 διαφορετικές θαλάσσιες πιλοτικές περιοχές σε Ελλάδα και Ιταλία με την εμπλοκή 3 έως 5 ατόμων από 9 φορείς, οργανισμούς και Πανεπιστήμια γίνεται φανερό ότι χωρίς συντονισμό και εκπαίδευση όλων των εμπλεκομένων, η επιτυχία του εγχειρήματος θα καθίστατο αμφίβολη.
Για τον λόγο αυτό και έχει προβλεφθεί η πραγματοποίηση τριών εσωτερικών διήμερων σεμιναρίων, τα δύο πρώτα εκ των οποίων πραγματοποιήθηκαν από τις 28 Νοεμβρίου έως την 1η Δεκεμβρίου του 2023, στις φιλόξενες εγκαταστάσεις της Γεωργικής Σχολής του ΕΛΓΟ Δήμητρα, στον Αμπελούζο του δήμου Φαιστού.
Τα δύο αυτά διήμερα ήταν αφιερωμένα στην εξοικείωση των συμμετεχόντων με όλες τις μεθόδους, τεχνικές και εργαλεία που θα χρησιμοποιηθούν τόσο για την καταγραφή και παρακολούθηση των πληθυσμών των ειδών στόχων (εναέρια και πλωτά μέσα, ραντάρ, drones, θερμικές κάμερες, υδρόφωνα, οπτικές καταγραφές, φωτογραφική αναγνώριση κ.λπ.) όσο και για τη σήμανση και λήψη βιολογικού και άλλου υλικού (σύλληψη και χειρισμός, τοποθέτηση δορυφορικών πομπών, λήψη αίματος, ιστού, e-DNA κ.λπ.) από έναν μεγάλο αριθμό ατόμων όλων των ειδών του προγράμματος.
Ειδικά για τη σύλληψη και τον χειρισμό των θαλασσοπουλιών όπως και την τοποθέτηση των δορυφορικών πομπών σε αυτά πραγματοποιήθηκε και πρακτική εκπαίδευση την τελευταία μέρα του σεμιναρίου.
Αρχές της Άνοιξης του 2024 και εφόσον το επιτρέψουν οι καιρικές συνθήκες, θα πραγματοποιηθεί το τρίτο και τελευταίο εσωτερικό εκπαιδευτικό σεμινάριο για τις ομάδες που θα πραγματοποιήσουν τις εναέριες και πλωτές έρευνες για τα κητώδη του έργου.
